We are ready to hit the studio and make a new record. Things are looking good.. I’ve kept myself bored and sober so I can keep this thing moving at a normal rate without any hiccups or letting the voice in my head say shit like “you’re a pointless asshole. shut up immediately.” It’s still there, but the excitement of getting these new songs down is drowning it out.
Watched the new film The Runaways last night. Even if a movie is pretty lame (which it was) but is about rock bands I can’t help but get some kind of inspiration out of it. Seemed kinda douche that they paid almost no attention to Lita Ford who went on to have a cheesy but pretty successful career of her own.
First show in a long time coming up on Aug 7. It’s in an art gallery in DC and should be pretty fun, mostly because we haven’t gotten on stage in such a long time. This is a time we would normally not do shows because we’re about to go deep into the recording process, but a friend asked us to do it and we’re itching to play some of these new songs. I want to get out the kinks before we drop them in our hometown anyway. You can rehearse a million times but everything changes once you play in front of an audience. Better finish some lyrics…
Got the sticker situation worked out. I have to do a little commercial here: Jakprints in Cleveland is rad. I got in touch with them, explained that some fucker stole them and they’re printing up new ones at no charge. And in case you’re reading this you thieving cocksmoker, they’re being sent to my job and you don’t know where that is so fuck you.
It’s been unbelievably hot here in New York. As soon as I finish typing this I’m heading up to our rehearsal space to go over the new record and get back into shape on some of the old songs. We tried The Outlaw Jimmy Rose sans electronics and it actually sounded better than it did with them. We think so anyway…
