After Pitch Black Room, songs just weren’t coming quickly to me. Every road I went down seemed weak, I felt that I had run out of things to say. I had also run out of energy to care, and this was distressing. I was writing every night, forcing it, almost raping the moment as our label at the time was waiting for a follow-up to Black Entertainment. They wanted big party music, and I didn’t feel at all like big party. I felt as if I’d focused so hard on writing music that everyone would like that I forgot to give a shit about the things and people I used to love. I’d assumed that they’d be waiting for me, patiently, after I was finished being indulgent. And this all came to me in one sudden flash while I was sitting in front of my computer, staring at the empty sequence. So I dropped a quick beat, kept it sparse, played a simple bassline and finished the song in couple hours. It’s the strongest song on the unreleased EP, and will be recorded without electronic drums for the upcoming record. It’s called Love Something, and you can right click and download it HERE.
