This is a track that we had been playing out for a couple months. It was one of the tracks off the so called “Superpolished EP” that never saw the light of day. We recorded some live drums at a friends apartment in the East Village and this track just wrote itself. I was taking a nose dive at this point, feeling like shit and unhappy with how everything in my life was going. Directionless, I was reminded of a conversation I’d had with my roommate when I lived in Boston a while ago: We were drinking, talking about how we’d both never live to see 30, ostensibly because we were both way too severe to be permitted to exist that long, and I’m not sure why it’s significant other than the fact that I fucking really believed it. So did he, and it was somehow important for us to bond over it. He later went nuts and moved to Arizona (an extremely nice guy, he used to steal cds and sell them back to the stores that he stole them from to come up with rent money). The song is called Pitch Black Room, and you can right click and download it HERE. Spread it around, this one’s on the house:)
